Day 31: HARVEST HEFEWEIZEN
Went out to BJs Restaurant last night for dinner and had a few HARVEST HEFEWEIZEN and they are great. This was shot past 12am so totally counts as today haha. With the low lighting... I think I shot maybe 25 frames of this same photo, just so I can get it sharp. Finally got one. Check out the beer when ever you have a chance.

Day 30: Horse
I was trying to actually get a photo of the horse with its ears up and just the eyes, but he was pissed off... Then I told him, HEY why the long face... *insert drum sound here* Anyhoo, I woke up around 5am and started to watch The Land Before Time.. I love that movie fyi. Then I started to remember when I was younger and my mom would start calling out "Mother, Mother" just like Littlefoot did. Ahhh memories. I don't really know what Littlefoot and this horse have in common haha. Oh my favorite character was Ducky.

Day 20: ABC
Woke up today saying "NO" and feeling a little stronger and better today. I talked to my parents today and they knew something was up with me, but Im getting better hiding my feelings lately. I don't know if thats a good thing or bad? Anyhoo, I didn't know how talented children can be. I heard an elementary drumline today and I was impressed. I didn't know if I should sit down and relax and listen to the music or take photos. I have always thought about becoming a teacher. Teaching the students how to go in the right path of life and learn to do right and good. Will see what happens there.

Day 18: You Choose
So many to choose, but how do you know that you chose the right one? You have many options in life. I guess its one of the coolest things that us humans have. Do you choose to go the right path in life? Is the person you married the right person for you? Is the job you have really the right job you need or want? Why do you put your right shoe on instead of your left? Why do you choose to play with peoples minds and hearts? Why do you choose to have the friends you have or remove the people that hurt you? So what do you choose to do in life? I know I choose to be happy and no one or nothing will and can't stop me.

Day 17: Circles
Many things are circles or round. Mother Earth, tires, the letter O and life. Sometimes we all go in a full circle. We repeat things that we have done in the past. It's like finishing elementary and starting with middle school then all over again with high school and so on. Even after we graduate from college. We find ourselves starting a new life. Its like we are running around in circles, the only difference is that we have learned from the past and choose the right path. Does this make any sense at all? Well To me it does hahah. I guess you just have to be Gabe to understand what goes through my crazy mind.

Day 16: Change
Who ever thought that something that has a small value could be worth so much? My mom has been collecting coins and paper money since she was a young'n. The best part is that she has all of these coins in a scooby doo tin lunch box. Anyhoo, she had said that she was thinking of giving the coins to me to collect. Today I thought about actually going into the collection business too. Just like my mom. It seem fun and I found out that Silver is/will be worth a lot in the future.
I think we all need change in our life. Good change that is. So with that said I leave you with some lyrics that I really like...
"We gotta make a change...
It's time for us as a people to start makin' some changes.
Let's change the way we eat, let's change the way we live
and let's change the way we treat each other.
You see the old way wasn't working so it's on us to do
what we gotta do, to survive."

Day 15: Broken
I originally shot this for one of my co-workers, because she need to get a photo so she can replace her monopod. I wasn't going to post it here, but then I stopped and started to think. Today I reminded myself that everything that is broken can always be fixed. Sometimes it takes a while to fix and sometimes gets fixed over night. Lots of things get broken, like Tvs, monopods, cameras, hearts etc... All of these things can be fixed we just need to give it time and remind ourselves that things will be ok. We can't allow broken things to stop us from our daily life. Yes... it might hurt at the time, but we get through it. I refuse to let broken things slow me down. Be happy and remember... Life does go on. Make it the best and don't let things or others bring you down.

Day 14: The List
Today was a messed up day. I couldn't find my camera. SOMEONE decide to hide it from me at work. NOT COOL!!! I missed lots of good photo ops... like the Stanley Cup and some dude with a HUGE afro... its cool. Whatever, thats how it is sometimes. I just added new people to my shit list. This is dedicated to them.

Day 13: Tip Off
Today was long, but easy. I started with work for two hours then was sent home so I could cover a game. While at home ate lunch, watched some movies and took a nap. This photo was taken at the game during the tip off... (note to others - don't do this... take photos of the tip of with a real camera) Anyhoo, my life.. I really love being a photographer. I get to sit on the side lines and pretty much watch a game for free. I'll tell you this... You will NEVER see me complain about my assignments.

I was originally going to take a photo of a plant I left outside my apartment, because it was dying inside. Someone stoled my plant =( but it's cool. Today was a lazy day for me. I went to Walmart to buy groceries and I was walking back to my apartment I always wonder who lives upstairs? I'm also planing on taking a portrait here someday. Hey it might just be one of my entries for my blog.

Day 8: Orange
Today was a LONG day. Woke up at 5am to see how the Valley was dealing with the cold front that came in. I went to the shelter and didn't see many people. Then I went to the streets to see how people were dressed up. I finally decided to go see if the Oranges had been frozen, but as you can see they weren't.

Day 6: Circles
Today was a Field Trip kind of day. I get a call from my editor telling me to call my reporter so I can head to Reynosa. I was actually still in bed when this happened, so I got ready and headed to the bridge. My reporter and I cross the bridge for a ceremony that was really boring. Pretty much the mayor for Reynosa was talking about, who knows what. One thing I did enjoy was watching how the Mexican media goes crazy. I was trying take a photo of the media attacking their subject, but wasn't able too. Anyhoo, we went to a breakfast, which was GREAT. The food was amazing because of the real Mexican food. Valley food sucks, period. So I had a blast just eating a three course meal with my reporter. We decided to drive and visit a very poor colonia to see how people are planning to deal with the cold weather. The lives these people live are amazing. They have dirt floors and live in a wooden home. Witnessing this isn't really new to me, but I was kind of glad to see how happy these people are with what they have. Reminded me of how lucky I am to have a job and being raised the right way. Many people are spoiled and want want WANT. Anyhoo We decided to head to a elementary school to see what they were doing. Not much going on there though. One thing I have to say about today... I love being a photographer. I get to experience different things and see many things that YOU will never see. Yea I know Im a photographer and need to show the reader what I see so they can experience it, but I like to have some things personal to me. Memories that I can take to the grave.

Day 2: Bonsai
Today I drove to Weslaco to cover a basketball game. As I drove to the high school I saw a stand that was selling Bonsai Trees and I remembered telling my mom that I wanted to have one in my desk. So I pulled up to the stand and asked the guy which one was the cheapest. He showed me a few and said $25. I looked in my wallet and only had $15. He said how about I sell you one for $20, but I told him I only had $15. A car pulled up to the stand and he told me he will give me one or $15. I pulled out the money and started to count, just to make sure I had the right amount, but he told me to just give him the money before the other people approach him, so I did. BAM I have my Bonsai tree for $15 and it looks great on my desk at work. Right before I left, the guy turned around and told me "Theses are lucky trees" then smiled and started helping the other people.
