Day 151: Memorial Day

I worked today, but I didnt have to cover any memorial day assignments, so I walked around the office looking for a flag to shoot. FOUND ONE!

Day 150: Soccer

I feel like I should be in those Canon commercials... where someone takes a photo at the super bowl with a point and shoot... I think there is a new one were a photographer sees an eagle feeding its nest and he puts his back pack down to pull out his big camera and the guy next to him has already taken the photo with his point and shoot. Anyhoo check out that commercial. I guess people can get good sports action photos with a point and shoot camera. This isnt great but its a shot I would submit when im shooting a game.

Day 149: Abandoned

Found this place in Alice, Texas. Kind of looks like it was once a cool place to hangout with friends. I wonder what the story is with this place and why its abandoned.

Day 148: Baseball

This has to be one of the nicest baseball fields Ive seen... for a high school. It was kept nice and just awesome. The best part... a train passes in the back. It kind of reminds me of that photo thats at Whataburger... the one with the train passing in the back while car are watching a movie at the drive in....

Day 147: Solar System

I LOVE this photo... and fyi... Im a HUGE space geek. I showed this photo to my friend and he said it was Jupiter... I say more like the sun with the planets in the back ground. So can you guess where this was taken at? Ok so after shooting baseball and helping a friend with computer programs... (Im also a computer/techi geek) my co worker and I decided to have a midnight snack at Dennys. I had the two dollar special woop woop.. anyhoo as soon as I walk in I see the lights and I started to noticed the design. So I decided to shoot the these lamps and since my head is always thinking about me traveling in space I noticed this space looking photo. What do you think? Space? Does it look cool? Anyhoo this is me being creative haha...

Day 146: Emptiness

I wish our University athletics people would work a little better. It needs improvement. Here is the view from the "media" press suite. Kind of boring for a baseball game huh? Well this was around the first inning... more people arrived. Ill give them a little credit there... Anyhoo I remember covering a game or two at Cal. St. Fullerton. It was pretty good experience. Good amount of people there supporting their school... or maybe they were just enjoying the weather and getting their tan on hah.

Day 145: Dinner

Had a Gabe day today... pretty much do nothing at home... well except for wash clothes, dishes and clean around my apartment. I decided to make some spaghetti for dinner. I know its missing bread and this and that... but it tasted mm mmm good. I love cooking and I think I found a new recipe while watching the Food Network. Will see when Ill make that.

Day 144: Fire

I went out shopping today... and bought nothing like always, but I forgot to bring my camera... EEK!!! No worries... I thought about playing with light or something like that. I ended up playing with fire and see what kind of photo I could produce. I actually like this photo. Simple, but hard to get with a point and shoot... or maybe not. You try!

Day 143: Boat

Spent the day at the island and working on my tanning... or evening my tan lines. I think I succeeded although I can always use more. I think I was four to five different shades of colors... I think I could pass the skin color in AZ if I was pulled over haha. I was telling my friend that if I end up living here in South Texas for the rest of my life (and Im hoping I dont) then I would have to buy a condo or a boat... I just have too. So if I decide to stay here ( I hope not) then I will let you guys know so we can party and chill at the beach!

Day 142: Foosball

One of our local bars has a foosball table along with many other activities to play while drinking with friends. I didnt play cause it was hot as HELL outside. The humidity was strong and I think I had a puddle of sweat around me... and Im a sweater haha.

Day 141: Mask

Another high school baseball game... Sharyland vs La Joya. It was a great game and went to extra innings. La Joya went on to win the game.

Day 140: Oldie but Goodie

Today I spent five more hours at the courthouse waiting for a murder trial... she finally came and I had to stalk her like a paparazzi because we need a photo for one of hour pages... Then I rushed to another photo shoot and we had this car as one of our props. I think its a 1953 Ford Crown Victoria... not sure and cant remember.

Day 139: Lights

I was stuck at the courthouse for four hours today... Sucked!!! Im a huge space geek and I see these lights like a asteroid breaking up into little pieces... I know Im lame... SUE ME! hah

Day 138: Flag

Woo I shot this before my camera died on me haha. This morning it poured like there was no tomorrow and five hours later its sunny and hot as hell. Thats the Valley for you.

Day 137: Bluebonnets

Do Bluebonnets grow on trees or are they just flowers from the ground? Anyhoo... I know I know another flower. It was a rough day and I forgot to pull out my camera at times... but my friend liked it especially since I shot this really quick.

Day 136: Beer Signs

I went out last night and of course I waited for 12am to hit so I can start shooting for the day... and luckily I found these beer signs in the restrooms. I havent had them, but I might someday. Rooseve,ts offers 47 beers or something like that. I had blue moon this night.

Day 135: In the Back

So I was covering a country concert today and everyone was looking at their phones to see if it was going to rain... as shown on the photo. The night ended up being fun and of course country girls... yummmmy haha.

Day 134: Candy

This is starting to get harder for me... ive been going strong since January 1st, but im almost halfway done and Im starting to struggle haha.

Day 133: Plane

I think there is another spot that shows planes landing at the airport down here. This can make a cool shot, but HOW??? I need to find something here with this plane and game. Will see.

Day 132: Photo Shoot

We had a photo shoot today... I was the runner haha running around moving lights around making sure the girls wouldnt fall. Rough job, but someone has to do it haha A videographer and photographer on the right, models on the center, lights all over. It was fun.

Day 131: The Queen

Thats the Queen Isabella Causeway. Its kind of famous and let me tell you a quick short story why... Four days after 9/11 a barge crashed to one of the columns causing it to collapse. Cars driving across the bridge didnt notice that part of the bridge was gone and they drove straight into the hole causing them to crash down. People were stuck at the island and they had to send boats to go save them since they were stuck out of the main land. I think that would have been great for me haha. Anyhoo people thought it was a terrorist attack because it happened four days later after 9/11... crazy huh. I actually learned this five years ago when I arrived here in the South Texas. Anyhoo this place is ok and if anyone wants to come visit then just let me know. Ill show you around South Texas. Ive been to mostly every little town down here.

Day 130: Shells

Went to the Island again and I swear if I end up living here for the rest of my life... and I hope I dont, then I will have to buy a condo... or a boat. It was a nice chill relax day. I need to take more trips to the island. Ive been wanting to go and spend a few days there, but just havent had the time to do it. Just me, myself and I... but anyone is welcomed haha.

Day 129: Out and About

This was a lamp I saw at one of the clubs I like going too. Sometimes you have to look hard for a photo and sometimes you dont. I saw this image as soon as I sat down. Its an interesting image... not a pulitzer haha

Day 128: Fan

I love my fan... it actually looks like a star from this angel... which reminds me I still need to go get some star tattoos. Anyhooi really like this photo, I dont know why. Ill have to try this photo again, but with a different angel haha will see what I get.

Day 127: Flag Pole

I know this is a boring photo but it was another slow, but weird day. What part was weird? I had to go shoot a dispatcher at the Hidalgo police department and I ended up getting a ride along, which was cool, but weird. I kind of know how the town is. I was a little freaked out cause he was trying to give someone a ticket for anything and I just had that haunting moment of the guy in Driscol pulling me over... which I havent paid the ticket yet... ugh... I hate that feeling. Anyhoo, I was hoping to show you this photo of a sad candy machine.... it was at the PD and there was a bad of chips left and a starburst candy... SAD I tell you.

Day 126: Photo Shoot

Day 125: Through the lens

First thing is first... today is my sisters bday. Shes 30... man shes old, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I had lunch with a co worker... this is his car... to remind people... I dont set up anything on my photos. I dont move things around or plan them. So luckily I saw his vehicle through the lens of his sun glasses. This car is a hazard hahah only cause he smokes so much... youll see me coughing inside this car whenever we travel. Oh the burger was AWESOME!!!

Day 124: Hallway

Today was a slow day... I almost forgot to take a photo of something. Luckily I shot the hallway at work haha

Day 123: Sherman Tank

I had an assignment today with these group of guys that restore military vehicles... lets just say I felt like a kid all over again. hahah These things are awesome!!!

Day 122: Fortune

I like this fortune... Kind of sums up stuff thats been on my head lately. Sometimes I need someone or in this case something to remind me about life.

Day 121: Concert

This is my view when I shoot concerts. Del Castillo is AWESOME!!! I also shot Blue October tonight and Deftones last night. Blue October was there for me when I need someone. The cool thing was that their media guy came up to me and asked me if I could take a photo of one of the band members. So I said ok, then I went into their tour bus, of course I smelled a little of the green stuff haha but not a whole lot, The guy gave me his camera and I took some photos. Of course he loved them. It was a pretty awesome night.
