Day 201: Light

Ok soooo I think I finally snapped out of my... whatever I was in... four days... UGH it sucked!!! I thought about some things that have been going on in my life and decided to make a final decision. I need to worry about myself more often. I hanged out with a co worker last night and started thinking of how lonely I have been... Five years down here and I have pretty much nothing! I try to do stuff, but I just get shoved around! They say people like nice guys... I say people just like to push them around and play with them... Who knows, but five years here and nothing has changed for me. For some reason everything seems to go in a circle for me and it SUCKS!!! Why am I still here? Cause I cant find someone to hire me... or the right place.

Anyhoo In other news I found a Chinese place today that I might like!!! The WOK in Edinburg. I also spent less than $60 at walmart... and I cleaned my apt... ok its not perfect, but Its clean now and still smelling good. This is day 201... lets see what happens for the next 164 days that remain.

Day 200: Pool time

Ok so this was shot Monday in the early AM. I know I wasnt going to do anything today... Ive been in this state of mind and I dont like it... I knew this was going to happen sometime soon. Luckily it happened now.

Day 199: Condensation

Sooooo I didnt do anything yesterday and I didnt do anything today... I know im boring. I did go have dinner with my friend and his wife and meet some of her friends. That was fun... actually thought they were a little normal since they are from the Valley hah but Im sure there is something wrong with them. One thing I have said over and over... Im glad Im not a Valley guy!!! Thank you!!!

Day 198: Camera

This is my quad camera. I also have a split cam. I love buying toy cameras and I need to buy more.

Day 197: R.A.s Sportsbar & Grill

So this is R.A.s Sportsbar & Grill. Its right behind my apartment. I actually kind of like it, except that they allow smoking and I hate smelling like an ashtray. They had karaoke and I was ready to go sing the Killers, but it was past 12am so I missed the deadline. They had some ok singers... the best part is winner wins $50 cash and $50 at the bar... I would love the $50 at the bar more than the cash hah... Anyhoo that was last night past midnight. This morning I went to the International bridge to take some photos and I swear the cartel has its little spies around the bridge make sure everything is going ok. I noticed this only cause there was a looking homeless man with a cell phone and pointing the thing at me... thats not normal. I also felt like i had eyes all over me... Its my sixth sense hah.. anyhoo I made it back alive!

Day 196: Embassy Suites

The Embassy Suites is an AWESOME hotel!!! Its so pretty inside... Im making plans to stay here for a day or two. I already have someone in mind! Its in McAllen, but I can pretend like I am a tourist hah

Day 195: Flooding

So I finally had a chance to go shoot some flooding... South Texas is falling into the river haha... Nahh its ok. Here is one of the RV parks near the Rio Grande River that is starting to flood. They say this place might be underwater in the next few days. We'll see.

Day 194: Coors

Had a weird day today so I bought some Coors... ok I dont really care what kind of beer I drink. This was just cheap so I bought it. Dont worry people Im sure Il like your favorite beer. Anyhoo I had a great company. Played some pictionary. I was little giddy too!

Day 193: Pinto League

Shot a pinto league thats heading to the little league series. Umm I dont know what else to say... I have stuff running through my mind and its not really good stuff. I need to get over this mood Ive been lately.

Day 192: Derailment

So I came home... turned on the tv... facebooked a little... then I check twitter and I see photos of a derailment. GREAT, there I go. This is what I saw. Funny thing is when people come up to me and ask me... what happened? Ummm do you see the train on the floor... I should just tell them a unicorn came and pushed the train to the sky... later falling to the ground hah

Day 191: Web

I HATE spiders... they creep me out. I even had a panic attack watching Charlotte's Web! Youll see a Raid can near the entrance of my apartment when you walk in haha. Anyhoo I was out shooting some kids that were taking photos of animals, flowers and anything else that they can find at one of our nature center. It was cool to see the kids actually get down on the floor and get dirty just to take a photo... the best part... They didnt complain about their point and shoot camera and my cameras... then again this photo was done with a point and shoot hah.

Day 190: Ink

Spent three hours outside the federal building waiting for someone to come out so I can attack them with my camera... mission accomplished! I was staring up into the trees when I shot this.

Day 189: Oh Amber!

So today was another shitty day. Amber had a flat tire and I had to buy new ones... Total of $850 in two weeks fixing Amber... Oy baby I love you. Ill get on my feet again... grrrr. Today I just wanted to turn on the AC crawl under the the blankets and cuddle with someone!

Day 188: Clouds and Water

So this is water coming from Monterrey Mexico after Hurricane Alex. Its crazy... I was told there were trees and cows... I did see a fridge but it got stuck on the bushes. So that sucks. This is supposed to be getting high soon so Ill keep my eyes open. Oh and I like the clouds hah

Day 187: Pump

So Ive been going on and off to the gym lately. Mainly off cause of work... yea its open 24/7 but I get tired of driving around, standing in the sun for hours and just running around. People tell me why dont I still go... well those people sit in the office facebooking, myspacing, twittering.... Must be nice huh? Anyhoo I did gain a few pounds lately not a lot, but still. I have my goal and Im going to get there... especially cause I want to impress hahah

Day 186: Millie

Soooo Im a dog person. I love dogs, but lately Ive been falling for cats. I mean Ive always loved cats, but they are getting to my heart... AWWWWW!!! This is MIllie and there is two more. There actually is one with a mustache! They are so cute... ugh what am I saying... But I want a cat now. NO I DONT!!! YES!!! Glah.

Day 185: 4th of July

I love this place hahah... The pool is awesome and people are great. So its the fourth of July I did some bbqing. Do I really know how to bbq? I think I got it after doing research and research and more research. Its not that hard. I should BBQ at my apt since their is a pit right in front of my door. I had a great time with great company, fireworks and good food. I think this had to been one of the best holidays Ive had in a LONG time. Ive been feeling really good lately.

Day 184: Glasses

I wait for the last second for this photo today. I was hoping to get some fireworks, but it didnt happen so I went out had a beer and had to think of something quick hah.

Day 183: Alex Bombsy

So my friend is taking care of a white wing dove that a co worker found outside their home. She wanted to name it Alex... I wanted to name it Bombsy... What do you think is cute? Alex is from Hurricane Alex and Bombsy is patriotic for the fourth of july. I liked the bird... it was cute and im such a wuss hah but i dont want to break the thing... it is a baby. anyhoo I hope she takes care of it good and will see what happens with Bombsy. This would be actually pretty cool to document hah.

Day 182: After the Storm

So I went out today looking for damage that Hurricane Alex did... not much out there. I did find some flooded colonias, but Im sure the water will be gone in the next few days. We had a ride with County officials to see what was good and what was bad.

Day 181: Hurricane Alex

Here is some rain art... sorry Its not interesting, but rain out there is crazy and I would probably break my camera or dropped it in the rain.

Day 180: Sandbags

Hurricane Alex approaches and Im not getting sandbags... luckily my landlord grabbed sandbags for us so thats awesome. I dont think it will be a strong hurricane, but you never know. Im guessing rain only. Will see what happens.

Day 178: Kayaking

Today I had an assignment covering some kayakers in the Rio Grande River. It was AWESOME!!! I love assignments like that. Although I think I lost a few cards. This has been one of the worst weekends, but kayaking was fun so I guess it wasnt that bad. I just have a little sunburn on my shoulders hah. I like this photo.

Day 177: Money

Ive been wanting to take this photo just because Ive been saving money since Jan 1 of this year. I was able to save up $1200 and now... bye bye money... I have to fix Amber's breaks tomorrow and hopefully thats it. I also have to take care of some other business. Im hoping to start saving money once everything is fix and taken care of. Will see. It was nice having you Green.

Day 176: Club 33

I had an assignment at Club 33 today. MTV's Real World: Brooklyn Scott Herman was signing autographs and hanging out. If you dont know who he is, then go google him. Hes actually a cool guy and helps people to workout.

Day 175: Nostradamus

Today I learned how one of my co workers cleans her fish bowl. I told her how I once had 2 golf fish that would eat the other fish... and how they had they were huge haha. She didnt believe me, but its true.

Day 174: Skateboarding

I took my intern to shoot wild art. Wild art is anything and everything! Kids at a park, someone painting something cool, people doing something. So while she was shooting some skateboarders, I decided to shoot this. Cool huh. I wish i had a cleaner back ground, but thats just the way it is.

Day 173: Bathroom

Cleaned my apt today... well some of it. The bathroom is clean haha. Here is a view of my sink and the stuff I use.

Day 172: Cat

My day off today and I got a message from some friends. Luckily I recognized the stars and the cat haha. The creepy part is how they got into my complex. My place is like a jail haha. Gates EVERYWHERE!!! Anyhoo they told me how it was done. Sorry you cant read the note... maybe its better that way hah.

Day 171: Father's Day

So today was fathers day... I called my dad and chatted a little. Then so friends and I headed out to the beach... South Padre Island... funny how its called Padre, which means father in english... anyhoo, it was a great day, good food, good eye candy, good time to just relax. I think I got a good tan... maybe a little burned but its all gravy hah. I like this photo because I was laying down getting my back tanned and I see this photo so I decide to take a photo of it... I kind of like it. Simple, yet cool.

Day 170: Downtown

Went out Friday night/ Saturday morning for a friends birthday celebration. We parked on the roof of the parking garage. Awesome view from up there. I like these kid of shots. They just look cool.

Day 169: La Villa Police Department

I had a shoot at the La Villa Police Department today. A man and a mother were charged for killing a two-year old. The mother was crying a lot during her arraignment and the guy was relaxed. I was trying to get a photo of that situation, but I had to get something for the paper... work first haha. So here is the chief getting interviewed by the media. These are always fun assignments.

Day 167: Horse

I had an assignment at an Equestrian Camp today. I started having flashback of Churchill Downs. I need to go back and take some photos... maybe next year? I need to contact some people and maybe I can assist them or I can shoot for someone. We'll see!

Day 166: Resting

Final day for U.S. Lance Cpl. Derek Hernandez who was killed in action in Afghanistan while on patrol. It was a good ceremony both at the church and at the cemetery. Family was very nice. I sent out photos of the funeral to AP and they liked the photos. I think I had some good art with the limited space I was in.

Day 165: Turtle Power

Slow day today... decided to shoot a turtle haha. I was a HUGE fan of the TMNT! I loved waking up in the morning to watch the cartoons and was always ready to watch the movies. I also have their toys, but I wonder where they are at. Maybe Ill bring them with me next time I go home.

Day 164: Returning Home

I covered the return of U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Derek Hernandez who was killed in action in Afghanistan while on patrol. I have covered many events like this. Then I stop and started thinking what town has seen a lot of these military deaths? I sometimes I start to have these thoughts about joining the marines... It just sits there, but dont know if I can follow through.

Today is my party for my birthday. Its at Alhambra and I hope its an awesome night!

Day 162: Lights On

When I look at this photo the first thing that comes to my mind is Maine! or something thats east coast and near the ocean. I dont know why haha.

Day 161: Stars

Left over decorations from my desk from my Bday... Awesome right? Anyone else see a heart? Cause I do... dont know what that means. Anyhoo... I have more decorations that someone did for me at work... I think 28 is going to be a good year... of course Ill be applying to places so will see if I get hired at any of these newspapers... Day 160: 28

Soooo guess whos birthday it is??? 28... I dont feel 28... I kind of feel young still, well except for my knees and back... but hey lets go sky diving. I hid my bday on my facebook to see who would remember... im actually surprised hahah. So Im working today cause I have always worked on my birthday... I remember they opened Chicos Tacos on Montwood on my birthday... it was awesome and I worked that day.. Anyhoo how about parties... well I dont really plan things on my day... why? cause my friends wouldnt come to my parties cause school was out... same with college cause they were from different cities. so yea... im just kind of boring when it comes to my birthday. So im going to continue to see how many people send a happy birthday through facebook or text... ive had a few... woop woop... Thanks!!!

Day 159: Its me Mario

So yesterday I caved in... cause of all the frustration Jobs gave me... and bought Mario Party 8. I havent played in a long time, but it feels good play again, even though Im turning 28 soon. GLAH!!! If anyone wants to come over and play... then let me know. You can make your own mii. haha

Day 158: FAIL

FAIL FAIL FAIL JOBS!!! I was excited and nervous today hoping that Jobs would say "why yes iPhone for Sprint" but did he??? NOOOOO UGH... Im off to go get the Androids EVO. Stupid Jobs... this is 2010... and to tell you the truth.. the new phone doesnt really look all that awesome. Its the same thing with a few upgrades. Ill just keep being patient... hes going to cave in someday!

Day 157: Glasses

Another day off... Saw the Lakers lose and it was GREAT!!! Didnt do much today though, just rest. Rest is good.. no GREAT!

Day 156: Yum yum

Sausage taco... YUMMY!!! Ramos BBQ has to have good bbq down here in the Valley. Today I started to think about the days when I wanted to open my own restaurant... I still want too. I also thought about going into culinary school.. how awesome would that be... man I love food I just need to keep working out and eat smart haha.

Day 155: Blue Moon

Long day and a friends birthday... WOOP WOOP for June babies... I dont know if this is how I see things or just a plain cool effect? haha Its a slow shutter exposure.

Day 154: Falcon Dam

Another assignment... There was a rumor that one of Mexico's cartels, Zeta's I think, wanted to blow up Falcon Dam to scare residents out of their homes... of course this was a rumor so we drove two hours to take photos of this dam... kind of lay back and boring huh? haha

Day 153: Training

I showed this photo to a co worker and he freaked out cause he thought I was real close to a possible search... which I have been. This were Sheriff Deputies training so I were there covering this for the paper. Ive always wanted to do training like this with and without a camera... maybe someday I will.

Day 152: Passes

I have way to many press passes in my car. Concerts, basketball, baseball, college sports and who knows what else. I collect these things and I need to find a box or something to add more. The newest one is the Roadrunners Baseball.
